Yesterday I tried to keep up with a group of adrenaline junkies and today I am feeling the after-effects.
We spent the whole day on the mountain, taking falls and losing ski poles and running into people (I was the only one who ran into somebody…if you’re reading this, innocent bystander, I’m so sorry).
The day was highlighted with tailgate picnics, a few good laughs as some of us struggled to get down some hills (usually me), and watching the fog take over the mountain as our overcast day turned dark.
Even though I’m sore all over and have pains in muscles I didn’t know I had, I’m grateful for my friends who push me to go faster and to do one more run and who laugh at me when I wipeout at the end of a hill. Just a sappy little thank you note written from my couch as I struggle to even get across the room (thank you, ski boots & icy falls).
